Gian
was founded in 1976. Founder of Gian, Mr. Ranjit Sarna, developed a taste
for beauty and elegance as a young man while working with his father's
canvas weaving a factory. In an interest towards designing, he began to
produce handbags with new and original designs. Soon, Mr. Sarna relocated
to a larger place and set up a manuf- acturing factory of bags and related
items. Gradually, the company grew and denoted the sophistication of the
products, which had come to represent Gian's success . Slowly, the one
man business became a family business when sons and brothers joined the
company.The early 1980s brought the Gian's classics: the bag with the
Mexican designs and prints " Dobby", the bamboo bag and canvas bags with
floral prints.
